Razor burns come about when a person with sensitive skin use inadequate shaving techniques which may result in the removal of puckered hair follicles and irregular skin. Razor burns can be easily identified by red or irritated skin, scabs, rash and the appearance of hair bumps and/or ingrown hair.

If you are unfortunate enough to suffer the pain of razor there are some things that you can do to get rid of the irritation and if your razor burn is accompanied by ingrown hair you should read this post on how to remove an ingrown hair.

Here are the steps to get rid of razor burn fast:

Apply light creams rich in aloe vera or tea tree oil directly to the area to soothe and protect.

Avoid shaving until the area heals but if you must shave stick with single blade razors and shave as low as your can with getting too close to the skin.

Once the area has healed use an exfoliating cream to slough of dead skin cells.

Tip: Stay away from products containing alcohol which will only dry out and irritate your skin. This includes perfumes, colognes and products meant for treating razor bumps which contain alcohol.

Also, take a look at these shaving tips for men to prevent razor bumps.

The ingrown hair elimination pads from Bliss have been around for a while and with good reason. Time and time again on this site I make reference to the importance of exfoliating and it is especially important if you suffer from ingrown hair or hair bumps.

The product has a catchy tagline but does it live up to its name:
Use Bliss Ingrown Hair Eliminating Peeling Pads to keep stubble from causing trouble!

If you were fortunate enough to secure a copy of my free ebook when it was available (I am currently revising and will include a couple of case studies in the new edition) you will know that I stressed the importance of consistency when treating ingrown hair.

Bliss Ingrown Hair Elimination Peeling Pads does work but it must go hand in hand with the 5 steps to eliminating Hair or Razor Bumps that I continue to stress. This means that you must:

Evaluate your razors and change if necessary (if you suffer from severe cases of razor bumps waxing is a no no!)

Exfoliate at least once weekly (This is where Bliss comes in)

Moisturize daily

Revise shaving techniques

Follow up with a proven solution (again Bliss fits into this category)

As long as you plan to keep it consistent and follow these five proven steps to rid yourself of unsightly bumps Bliss Ingrown Hair Elimination Pads will work for you.

Bliss Ingrown Hair Eliminating Pads contains:

Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids which will tackle hair-raising bumps and lumps

Antioxidant green tea and soothing, smoothing oat extract

No No 8800 uses Thermicon (heat) technology, rather than laser in order to reduce hair density. Using this technology technology, no!no! conducts heat down the hair shaft straight into the hair follicle. The heat conducted disrupts the hair growth cycle over time. A similar principle is used for laser and IPL treatments except that thermicon technology does not use light at all making this both safe and effective for all skin types and hair colors.

With no no 8800 professional and pain free hair removal is now affordable and can be done on your own terms in the comfort of your home. What’s more, you can reduce your hair density by up to 94% without chemicals and pain associated with hair removal. Finally you can say goodbye to hair bumps!

Hair bumps are often referred to as ingrown hairs or razor bumps. The terms are often used interchangeably and while a hair bump can be referred to as a razor bumps both are somewhat different from ingrown hairs defined here.

Wikipedia gives a detailed overview of pseudofolliculitis barbae or hair bumps in this article. Once again let us quickly differentiate between hair bumps and ingrown hair.

Hair bumps or razor bumps occur anywhere on the face or body where shaving or other types of hair removal has occurred. Due to several special hair bumps causes the hair can curl back into the follicle prompting an infection which results in pimple like reactions on the surface of the skin. The reactions or pimples can be pustules (with fluid inside or papules, elevated without the pus).

When the hair grows out of the skin’s surface and grows back into the skin this scenario is referred to as extrafollicular.

In the case of ingrown hair, the shaved hair will not have had an opportunity to break the surface of the skin. Due the its curly nature it would have curled and continued to grow under the skin, again causing infection and the resulting hair bumps. This scenario is referred to as transfollicular.

Here is another brief description of hair bumps at Wikianswers.

Another great product for the management if hair bumps is Princereigns Shaving Gel.

Product Description

The Premier shave gel used by celebs/models to remove ingrown hairs and razor bumps caused by shaving/waxing. While also softening and straightening the hair folicle preventing future ingrown hairs. Princereigns also removes dark spots and blemishes leaving you with a smooth and even complexion.

Princereigns is all natural and therefore your skin will be less prone to irritation and burning.

Some customer reviews from Amazon:

Better then Tend Skin!

At first when I bought this product I thought that it wouldn’t work, another over expensive thing. I have had ingrown hairs for years, anytime I shave or do anything to remove the hair, and it’s not just a couple its many, tons of them. I recently bought tend skin and that only helped a little bit!

This product Princereigns worked exactly as described! I shaved then applied the gel to my legs, and not one ingrown hair!! The dark spots I do have are slowly disappearing, takes time though. This product works perfectly!

Pricey but well worth it

A bottle of this stuff is pricey but it works better than any other product claiming to do the same thing. Smells pleasant and isn’t greasy.

Painful ingrown hairs gone

I have had a problem with unsightly and painful ingrown hairs since college. I have used every method of hair removal from shaving to electrolysis with somewhat unsatisfactory results; ingrown hairs always returned. I was planning to resort to laser hair removal, but from what I’ve read, it can be painful, expensive and potentially scarring.

Since I can’t remove the hair permanently, getting rid of the ingrowns is the next best thing. After three days, I have noticed a dramatic improvement. I used to get ingrown hairs that looked like little red infected pimples and they have cleared up entirely allowing shaving to provide a more comfortable and attractive solution.

This product does what I had hoped Tend Skin would do, with real results and without drying or irritating my skin. I use a small amount 2x a day.

Our Notes

Princereigns is a great product because it does not contain alcohol which can dry out and irritate your sensitive skin. Remember to treat hair bumps by exfoliating, moisturizing, proper shaving equipments and techniques.

Finally, a hair removal system that is completely pain free and it doesn’t involve using any sharp razors or burning chemicals. The No!No! Hair Remover is a new device that removes unwanted hair easily and effortlessly. It looks like your regular electric shaver but if look closely , the No!No! Hair Remover uses a special thermodynamic wire that cuts hair by heat. It uses the same principles as laser hair removal but unlike lasers, No!No! is not limited to dark h aired and light skinned individuals. It can be used safely with any hair type or skin color. The Thermicon technology developed by No!No! uses thermal heat transference to remove hair similar to electrolysis and laser hair removal.

What are the advantages of No!No!’s Thermicon technology vs. Electrolysis or Laser hair removal?

No!No!’s big advantage would be time because both electrolysis and laser hair removal methods need several sessions to completely remove hair. No!No! gives professional results at home and using it is very similar to shaving.

Also, electrolysis involves inserting a probe into the hair follicles, making it an invasive procedure . If not done properly, the skin can get burned if the heat setting is set too high or the pulse of the current is set too long. Another drawback of this method is the risk of infection if instruments are not properly sterilised.

The trouble with laser hair removal is that it works best on dark haired and light skinned individuals. It won’t work on light colored hair or dark skin because the laser targets the dark pigment called melanin. Light colored hair has less melanin so laser can’t target these hairs. Melanin is also present on the skin and the more melanin on the skin means darker skin. So using laser on dark skinned individuals may burn not only the hair but the skin as well.

No!No!’s Thermicon Technology is non-invasive and non-selective. Every time hair touches the thermodynamic wire, it removes hair by sending the right amount of heat to break hair just underneath the skin. At the same before hair breakage the thermicon signal reaches the hair follicle and disrupts hair growth. Using this technology, clinical studies have shown 64% hair growth reduction. With No! No! Hair Remover, you are not only removing unwanted hair, you’re also reducing hair regrowth at the same time

There is a growing demand for men to be properly groomed not just on their faces but all over. Even on the face men are now removing excess hair between the brows, in their noses and on their ears and this is as it should be. Careful grooming should not be reserved for women only.

Due to the amount of work involved for a man to keep up with shaving all these “extra” areas, many of them are opting to have hair in these regions permanently removed. By far the best option for doing so is by laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal involves the use of a light from a specific device with a particular wavelength directed towards a small area on the skin targeting only the dark pigments of hair in that particular area.

This procedure has been around for a while but it is still relatively unknown. This process works because it is used in such a way as to cause damage to the hair follicles without affecting the surrounding area in any way. Since the hair follicle is damaged in the process the further growth of hairs is impaired. The results vary from person to person and it is mostly recommended for individuals with darker hair on very light skin. Even so the results are not always guaranteed but still men are always willing to consider this as an option for male hair removal. Though the results of permanent hair removal is not always guarantee laser hair removal will certainly slow down the growth of hair.

Other advantages of laser therapy for male hair removal are that the side effects are minimal, hair growth is decreased if not stopped altogether and it can be used to remove hairs from larger areas such as from the chest, back, legs and stomach. The best part of using laser therapy for male hair removal is the report that once this is done hair bumps will be a thing of the past.

Laser hair removal treatment though costly, certainly is the best option for fighting hair bumps and for general male hair removal.

When it comes to removing body hair, we have lots of possibilities. You’ll be able to always shave, which will leave unsightly razor burn. Then again you are able to wax, which can be quite painful and, if you have it done professionally, can price a fortune. Then there is the hair elimination creams we all see advertised. The difficulty with these is that, in some cases, they can trigger unpleasant epidermis burns from the formulas the producers make use of. The good news is, I have found a hair remover lotion that should remove body hair whilst keeping your skin color safe and smooth.

Revitol Hair Removal Product is an all normal item from one of the leading skin color car makers in the industry. Revitol Hair Elimination Cream is fantastic in that it totally removes all the hair from where ever it is applied and moisturizes while doing it. This leaves your skin entirely smooth with no hair and no painful rashes.

Revitol Hair Removal Product does it by combining clinically tested, all natural, plant extracts that will help moisturize the skin color, remove the hair, and it even includes a hair inhibitor that should slow the hair regrowth. You no longer have to worry about razor burn, bumps, ingrown hairs, or other embarrassing blemishes due to other hair elimination goods. Oh, and did I mention the very best factor? It doesn’t smell bad! Should you have used other hair removers you know, they stink. Not the case with Revitol Hair Removal Lotion.

The fact of the matter is, Revitol Hair Removal Cream works. It truly is all normal so you don’t ought to worry about any uncomfortable or even unpleasant rashes. They consist of a 90 day income back guarantee, so if it doesn’t work for you; then send it back! With all of these benefits and virtually no downside, I see no reason why you do not purchase Revitol Hair Removal Cream nowadays.

Makeup can work miracles to hide your issues and reinforce your beauty quotient. But, if you go too overboard with the makeup, you may end up looking like a mannequin. To ensure that you do not end up looking all caked up, natural makeup methods can be of significant help. Here are a few of them.

The must have basics of makeup include the concealer and the foundation. However, most girls have a tendency to apply both products a little too readily- something that can seriously take away from your natural beauty. Ideally, they deserve to be applied carefully to keep your natural glow. Also, do don’t forget to apply both- the concealer and foundation as evenly as possible.

Go in for a tinted moisturizer as it mixes regularly with the skin. Besides, it has moisturizing properties too which will make the foundation look unnoticeable. If you have deeper blemishes or darker scars, you may need to go a touch heavy on the concealer. To be sure that it doesn’t look artificial, go for a concealer that fits your skin tone.

Make up simply doesn’t mean concentrating on the face alone. It is very integral to paying close attention to your eyes as well. You needn’t always dab your eyes with voluminising black mascara. For a natural feel, it is recommended to go in for the clear mascara instead. This will help you get the voluminous look without giving you any heavy or overboard look. When applying foundation on the face, do not neglect the eye area. This can otherwise give a particularly uneven look. All you have to do is to apply some foundation on the eyes to even out the entire look.

If you need to sport a natural feel with your make up, avoid the dark shades of eye shadows like green and blue. For a natural appearance you must go in for the lighter and more subtle shades like copper, pink, orange, bronze and many more. Do not go too overboard with the lighter eye shadows also. When talking of the eyeliner, go in for the ones which are lighter in nature. The best colors that work fine to offer you a pleasant appearance are brown, charcoal gray and the like. For a further natural effect you can mix them well with the shade of the eye shade that you have applied.

Yet another thing that you need to work on to get a natural makeup feel is your lips. Simply try to stay away from the dark shades of lipsticks like- brown, maroon and many more. In addition, try to say no to the glittery and glossy lipsticks as they can totally take you away from the natural look. If you would like to understand more about the natural colour of your lips, simply bite a lip a little and you’ll get to see the natural color of your lips. Utilize a lipstick of this natural shade to get the natural look. In order to let it stay intact on your lips, you can employ a gloss which has a clear tone. The best would be to use a naturally transparent gloss.

With these natural makeup techniques at your aid, you will be ready to spolish your face and still look at your natural best.

Did you know products tagged hypoallergenic are usually not necessarily safer for your sensitive skin? This is simply just one of the greatest misconceptions in the care of sensitive skin. Prior to listing the others a concise explanation sensitive skin is neccesary. Sensitive skin is one which is unable to endure any kind of unfavorable conditions and which readily gets inflamed on contact with foreign materials (including skincare products). Sensitive skin is easily prone to problems with hairs bumps and ingrown hair.

Some products appear on the shelves of your preferred beauty counters labeled for use on sensitive skin. This may not be always the case and what might work for some could be damaging for others; the reason being the degree of sensitivity varies from individual to individual.

The threshold level to detergents, harsh chemicals and even the environment is very low for sensitive skin types, leading to skin getting damaged effortlessly and rapidly. Products targeted for sensitive skin care sometimes avoid the possible irritants or keep them at nominal concentrations.

Listed here are the things you need to realize when caring for your sensitive skin.

1. When purchasing products select only those which are tagged for use on sensitive skin. Even then, check the instructions for specific instructions and warnings linked to the product.

2. Check the labels for content and select just those with minimal chemicals, preservatives, coloring and additives.

3. Avoid alcohol dependent toners. Generally toners are not appropriate for sensitive skin types.

4. Protect the skin on your hand by using protective gloves whenever cleaning or undertaking the laundry.

5. Safeguard your skin from the harsh effects of the sun and frigid winter air. When there is risk of exposure to direct sunlight make use of sunscreen. Cover the face and rest of the body from the severe winter air.

6. Choose mild products for shaving or waxing. Use proper techniques for applying razors to the skin on order to prevent hair bumps.

7. Use hypoallergenic products wisely. The FDA advises there are no federal specifications regulating manufacturers’ use of the term “hypoallergenic” — so it can mean whatever a specific company would like it to mean

8. Choose skin cleansers that are free of soaps and alcohol in content and cleanse your skin often.

9. Make use of mild products to exfoliate and do not scrub skin with harsh loofahs or scrubs as this could cause irritations.

10. Use makeup moderately and remove whenever possible with hypoallergenic removers.

While care for sensitive skin involves a lot extra thought and attention in comparison with normal skin when managed correctly the benefits can be gratifying.
